Battery Terminal Protector removal

Wondering if anyone has ever been able to dissolve/remove that yellow sticky battery terminal protector.
Picked up a new toy and someones sprayed that yellow crap all over the battery and surrounding cables, wiring, inner guards and metal work.

No needyb. Have you put some turps on a cloth and test.. Hopefully for yoursake its solvent base.

Thanks for all the suggestion guys and yep the Repco degreaser and a nylon type toothbrush worked a treat.
Now to get busy sanding, undercoating and slapping on a couple of coats of the silver paint.
