So what's the difference between a low and mid BCM?

There are three BCM levels not two. LOW, MID and HIGH. MID supports everything LOW does + cruise control and elecric windows. All Commodores fitted with MID series bcm's (usually Acclaims and Equipes) have factory cruise control and most, if not all of the wiring for electric windows. (All equipes had electric windows but electic windows were optional on Acclaims).

A HI level BCM supports everything a MID level BCM supports + climate control + trip computer, L3 dash and remote boot release. A HI level BCM was fitted to Berlina's and Calais.

Thank you cruzn most informative.

So a Low and Mid BCM had the same harness, whereas a High is different?

According to the manual, if it has a shield it is riveted in and if it doesn't have a shield it is screwed in.

VT-VX BCM is clipped onto two tabs behind the fusebox, the plate thing is referring to the VP ECM... nothing like the BCM in a VT.

Yes, sorry I didn't realize nicko said it was a VT BCM, since this is the VR -VS section I jumped to conclusions. I was quoting from a Gregory's VR manual. (see attachment)
