umm complete setup comes to about 650 ish. thats with genuine 044's can be done cheaper with copy pumps. you should do it. your not going to have a back seat anyway. just buy a sheet of alloy and bolt it into the flat part of where the back seat was. i need a bigger tank. but dunno how ill go about it unless it goes into the tray. and as impractical as this car will be id still like use of the tray. so for now itll stick with the 60 litre tank and walbro feeding the surge tank which is 3 litres. hoping 2 044's are enough and i dont have to buy a 3rd.
Defintaly find something that goes under car, i wouldnt want all that weight up high in the try. But ill defintaly get a sheet of alloy and put it in when i need it. Wont need two 044's for mine tho

That looks like the warren and davis one ive been looking for but was too expensive. Im gonna have to try get that over to sydney Sent from my XT910 using Tapatalk 2
hmm bit far for a road trip i think. looked it up and its 1300km one way. he is getting a quote on shipping it for me tomorrow. and its 105 litres not 150. but still better than the 60 i have now.
i didnt take too many pictures but most of the bottom end is complete. crank is in 7 pistons are in and all turning nicely. ended up bending one part of the oil control ring on the 8th piston after having to swap pistons around so it could clear the counterweights on the stroker crank. the cam went in. and i need lifters to check that the cam timing is good. so i ordered lifters and a new melling high volume oil pump hopefully i should see them this week and a set of ls3 heads. pistons with rods on them about to install the crank crank in 7 pistons in and cam in. front plate and sump dummy fitted to stop **** getting in. me using the overkill overhead crane to hold the motor while i put the rear cover on. so thats where im at for the moment. more pics to come next week when more parts arrive and more work is done.
thanks crank. pretty sure it will max out the turbo. might need to source a second one. haha jokes aside ill probably only run the one. maybe go to a 3.5 inch exhaust if i can fit it in without losing too much opposite lock. im hoping to have it done in a couple of months as the cash flow continues. this week i got my morel race tie bar lifters and melling high volume oil pump. but ive been having a bit of trouble sourcing a replacement ring so ive sent a sample of what i need back to come racing and they should send me what i need next week and i can finish the assembly of the bottom end. this warning is on the packet? has anyone used them and knows how noisy they are? not that im too fussed just like to know what to expect. well i thought id write up a list of the bits for the engine so far LS1 style cast iron block with 4.0inch bore COME racing 4340 Forged 408 stroker crank Come Racing Billet H beam rods and arp 2000 bolts Clevite H series bearings on the mains and big ends Diamond racing forged 4.005 pistons with a -24cc dish and chrome rings to take the boost COME Cams turbo cam Morel Race series hydraulic tie bar lifters Melling High volume oil pump Rollmaster double row timing chain ARP main studs, head studs, crank bolt, cam bolts, cam retainer bolts, rod bolts Cometic headgaskets to bring it to a 9.0 compression ratio LS3 CNC heads with COMP Springs package thats all i can think of for now. will add more as i finish off things here's the cam card for anyone interested.
well ive got a few more parts to add here. i went out to eagle on saturday with dan and ordered a set of ls3 heads and picked up some rocker covers while i was there. heads come this week afaik and then need to order some stronger springs for the heads as my cam is too big for stock springs. not too long now
another update. the ring i was waiting for showed up from come racing, so i decided its best time to put the 8th piston in. put it in and checked all the torques of all the bottom end bolts. all good so far, got the crank scraper installed and the oil pickup tube on. just need to line up the front and rear covers then the sump can go on and bottom end is complete. put my high volume melling oil pump on with the spacers to clear the double row timing chain and all is sweet engines actually in an old refridgeration demountable building that still has the cooling functions in it so its nice and cool to work on the engine haha brand new ls3 heads come in and ive ordered a set of lunati double valve springs that are good for 650' lift more to come soon
