Hey everyone

I'm hoping that you all may be able to bump heads and help me figure what the hell is beeping at me.

By the way it's not my car so can't just go and test stuff right away. Car is an 06 VZ SV6 commy

So this car has just been bought, everything is pretty standard apart from a microphone in the drivers pillar and something else stuck to the windscreen in the top left (GPS signal thingy?) I don't think that that stuff is standard anyway! So anyway, Jump in the car, turn the ignition on or start the car, either one it doesn't matter. On the dash it says system check OK. then beeps. 2:30 minutes later it beeps again and then again in the same time interval until the car is turned off. F##king annoying! So in my wisdom I searched the forums, googly, manuals etc to no help. I had a think and thought I would take the stereo fuse out, start the car and see what happens - didn't beep at me! Put the fuse back in - didn't beep again, Sussed! went to take the car for a spin and the little bastard got vocal again with the same beeping.

I was then told that before it was purchased the car dealer had to replace the computer in the car, I asked why and the new owner wasn't told why (he also asked why) because salesman don't ask mechanics these sorts of questions. So he didn't know why.

Other than that they're a bloody nice car.

Any ideas as to what may be the problem?

Cheers in advance for reading the massive post :)

Microphone in the A pillar is for a Bluetooth kit that wasn't fully removed I'm guessing. Chance it's brain could be somewhere and searching for a phone. Other thing in the window is probably an antenna for something, either same car kit or GPS tracking (they have two wires coming out)

Your best bet is to go for a little dig and see if anything is still connected to the phone harness. Search the forums for commodore phone connector and you will find how to get to it. If anything is connected to it... It's not anything you need. Cut the black wire and see if that shuts it up. Failing that your going to have too look in the drivers area under the dash. Pull towards you at the top of the panel under the steering column and then let it swing down. If you don't see anything out of place... Take a photo (a couple preferably with good lighting) and someone here if not me can tell you what does or doesn't belong.

Got it all sorted. It was the stupid little hands free system, found wires and speakers and stuff under the steering column. unhooked it all so now no more noises!

Cheers for all the info
