Hi guys, new to forum, love coming on reading but never posted.

I recently bought a VY Executive series 1 to go with our VZ Calais. I like the Calais dash and after reading here, realised you can only use a VY series one dash in a VY series 1.

Well I bought myself a used VY Berlina dash (LVL 2 Standard, with part number 92160980) and it has a grey plug.

So what I'd like to know is does any body know in Melbourne where I can get it programmed to the Executive? Some dealers are quoting $120, some $150 and one said $200!!!!!!!!!

What have some of you fellas paid and is this too much, because it certainly seems to me to be.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post,

    Mark.:surprise:

    Hi,

I did this to my VY SII when I bought it in 2004. Job is much easier than it was in my VS S11. It is just a cluster swap (as you know with the right series), and a Tech2 programming.

For warranty purposes, I let them change the cluster and Tech2 at the local dealer. Cost was $140.

I think it is well worth doing, and would pay the $120 without agrument.

Now I wish it was that easy for my VE MY09, but it has proven too difficult for me to be confident to go ahead yet.

    Hi,

My apologies for taking so long to respond. Have been rather busy, and not been on site for a while.

If the replacement cluster has less than 100 km on it, then the dealer can set the odometer to the current reading. If over 100 Km, the dealer cannot, though I believe that some specialist instrument companies can.

My cluster was new, so the odometer was set to the car's current reading.

    Regards.
