Don’t run drag radials on the street. They’re good for straight line on the track but they’re not made to corner. Wet performance is also compromised.

It’s just a matter of doing research and reading reviews on tyre sites. Nitto make some awesome street tyres.

I don’t believe the mt radials are road legal here in Aus - heard they’re not load rated as required.

Hi EYY, It doesn't sound like your speaking from experience.

The MT street ss is apparently perfect but its illegal.

What else is out there for a 19x9 or 18x10 wheel?

I apologise for being ubrupt.

There will be minimal cornering so not an issue.

If I can get 500+whp to the ground it will be ok.

M/T SS radial only just meets the legal requirements for traction as it is a wet road test they do for the ratings (read the sidewall)
I have a set and won't even drive to the track on them. Change at track, race, change back.
For a sticky street tyre I would go the nitto.

Unless you are stinking rich and it never rains. Then go the mickeys

Sounds like you're inexperienced. You've contradicted yourself straight up. Last night you asked what are the best street legal tyres, and added the MT's to the poll options. Now you're stating that they're illegal.

Not sure why you'd want to waste MT's on the street though.

I've run mt radials on the street to and from the track and even to work the next day in the rain. they still had plenty of tread depth left and were still useless above 60kph. They wobble around on bumpy roads too.
Check out some Potenza S007's. If they're good enough for Ferrari they're good enough for a commodore.

Lots of expensive sticky tyre options that fit those cars just look up reviews.

Workmate has 650'ish rwhp vf daily...tyres last awhile because hard to find anywhere he can actually open it up

Thanks guys,

This gives me some options to start with. I'll take your advice and just use the M/T street SS tyres at the track and may be just the odd trip there and back.

I'll post up some more photos and my findings when sort out the new rubber for the rears. Will see how the stock Potenza's handle all the extra torque first. Should be a fun.

Cheers,
