I’ve driven to and from the track a couple times on 18 inch MT street SS, about an hour trip, and it’s doable, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Very floaty in the corners, and that’s at 30psi (16-18 track) Still safe as long as you take it easy.

I run Michelin PS4S on my 20s. And they are bloody great, once they get a bit of heat in them they hook up amazingly well, and the cornering is amazing. I’ve even run them at the drags and done a track day at Phillip Island and cant fault them. 470rwkw.

Yeah mate, I have heard good things about the Michelin PS4S. 470wkw or 630whp is very similar to what we are hoping mine will make after the Harrop FDFI 2300 and a few other goodies are fitted.

It doesn't seem like the Bridgestone Potenza S007's go any wider than 245/35R19 for the 19 inch wheel and I'm not too keen on fitting 20's yet so I'll see if Michelin do the PS4S in 275 or 285 for the 19s. How wide are your tyres?

Yea they come in 275/40/19 or 285/35/19.

Mine are 285/35/20. Will be fitting 295 when these wear out, which will be a while. They’ve had a hard time and are wearing very well.

They didn't come on that size when I bought mine about a year ago, only 245/19. The Pilot Sport Cup 2 might be worth considering. It's grippier than the PS4S.

Yeah cool, cheers cuda I will have a look. On the stock 19 x 9 rim I prob wouldn't want go more than 285 what do you think? Not sure if 295's would be legal? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks,

Other option is to buy more 18x10 wheels and fit a street legal 295 or 305+ or a 20" rim ? The aim was always to keep her stock looking

There are tyre, wheel & suspension experts on here e.g. @vc commodore, who are far more qualified than me to comment. But, I certainly wouldn't even try to go wider than 285 on the stock rear 19 x 9 rim.

The Pilot Sport Cup 2 is in probably the top 5 best tyres there are at the moment, but they're also pretty exxy … you might struggle to find them in Commodore sizes, aren't they usually found on the likes of top-end 911's?

If tyres being a little slippery when cold is a problem for you, the Sport Cup 2's won't suit though.
