i would like to finally do the big three upgrade.. i have quite a bit of 0 gauge left over and terminals and i think i need this upgrade done. has any1 done it to there vy?? if so would you mind posting some pics of the wires and how you connected it?? and any tips and stuff, i was going to get it done at the shop but id rather save $120
this is what i did under my bonnet alt+ to Bat+ and Bat- to chassis helped a little with voltage drop
can you show me pictures on where the end of the wire connect to ? thats the bit im having trouble with when i looked under my bonnet
SO NO ONE ELSE HAS DONE IT?? IN A VY?? i need to see a picture of the 0 gauge connected to the alt and groundings
theres one bolt on the back of the alternator and for the grounding basically can go anywhere along as it a good clean metal on metal connection
theres one bolt on the back of the alternator for the positive and for the grounding basically can go anywhere along as it a good clean metal on metal connection
im doing the same in my vn commodore..... thd alternator is done ground to chassis is direct on the chassis i just dont know where the earth on the engine block is...... any ideas????
yeah me either if you dont see one, just do the ground on the bat? its only one wire on the bat you just replace
i always find youtube is a big help when doing this. i am going to do this when i order my 0gauge from knuconceptz.
i refer to YouTube - Increase Car Audio Power 25% - How To Install Big Three Upgrade - Easy 15 Volt Stereo System Big 3
so.. i just brought some new battery terminals from the US and should get em in a week or so, i know where the wires go now, its just where should i hool the neg to on the engine block? any suggestions?
so i recieved my terminals and everyhting, im gonna do the big three probably early next week, so here is a pic of 3 bolts around the alternator, which one should i ground it to??
Why are you grounding the altenator when you are using thicker wire for the engine ground to ground anyway.. ?? Why dont you just do Alternator (+) to Battery (+), Engine Ground (-) to battery ground(-), And Battery Ground (-) to Chassis?
oh that is for engine block.. and that is exactly what im doing, which is the best bolt for the engine block ground?
im a little confused because ppl have said i can just put it on one of the mounting bolts for the alt, thats why i did the pic to see which bolt lol coz i cant seem to find somewhere on the engine block to put it.
altenator bolt and engine block is the same really, there both bolted together, but in saying that the closest tot he altenator.. the better
