Hi guys,
Having trouble with my factory blaupunkt in my vy.
It has decided it no longer wants to read the discs.
Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem and if so, how much the fix the thing.
Cheers.

Wondering if it is diplaying an error message?
e.g. MECH error
If it is, only way to reset unit is at a dealer with Tech 2.

As Junior has pointed out if it is that error it requires tech 2 or in the case of my unit when I bought my car they forgot to enter the pin for it 2 work and only the dealer can do that.

Daron... the blaupunkt decks are quite a good deck - ive got both a single and 6 disk, the 6 disk bein in place now. they are infact heavily intergrated into the car itself, if you looked into detail of these units u too will find out. Juzvy as for the read errors could be just down to the lens being lil grotty maybe have a look into some lens cleaning disks, it may take a few attempts but it fixed that same problem i started to experiance when i had the orig single disk in

Thanks mate, as for the quality arguement i agree, the decks are pretty good for what i want.
I've also got an in car dvd that's blaupunkt and it's supreme in it's quality.
Anyhoo, lucky for me the car is still under warranty so i'll just get them to fix it i think!:D

Agreed on Blaupunkt being decent quality, definately alot better than the old eurovox stuff that holden put out. As for intergrating a new HU, it is not much trouble to do as I have had one replaced with one of Alpines models from last year. The only downside being the loss of steering wheel controls which are not a huge problem to get an aftermarket kit installed anyway.

BTW. I have a factory 6 stack unit from my VY sitting in my cupboard. Can be tempted to lose it for a decent offer possibly........

Fully agree that the stock systems are below par, but some people are happy with what they have got and aren't or don't want to be bothered with upgrading.

Just a reminder that this thread is slowly going off topic and remember it was about the problem the OP had. I am sure if he wanted to change the HU then fixing it wouldn't be a priority.
