g'day,

need a bit of help. Im going to be painting my front bar, Its going to be solid blue, and im going to do the insert with a metal flake (the type you mix into the clear).
Now my problem is im not clear coating (cause its a solid colour) and i dont know how to blend the flake with the solid, There isnt a very clear edge.

otherwise there would be a lip between the two.

hope this makes some sense.

cheers

Just spray the whole bar with clear once you've done the flake, just because the blue is a solid colour doesn't mean you cant clear coat it.You'll end up with a far better looking job too,the clear gives the solid colour more depth and IMO gives a far better gloss & shine:thumbsup:
I respray musical instruments and have tried polishing the plain solid colours (when I first started out) and they just didn't have the depth and gloss that a clear coated instrument has.Well worth the extra effort.
