My blower fan in my statesman (96) won't turn off. I've taken out the fuse to stop it and I've tried replacing the fan amplifier but it still hasn't fixed the problem. Ideas anyone?

Using a multimeter you should be able to diagnose at the fan resistor whether it's the resistor or the control unit.

Sounds like the resistor to me though. Not sure where they're located in the statesman though sorry.

Doesn't the fan default to ON when the coolant temp sensor shits itself? I think I might have read that in my service manual once

Depends on which fan we are talking about. If its the one for the aircon/heater it may be the resistor. If its the thermo fan under the bonnet i would start by swapping relays. Then mobe onto sensors

You may have a faulty blower relay. It's located in the relay housing assembly under the bonnet. If you swap it with (say) the horn relay you should be able to tell whether or not the relay is the problem.

When I saw 'Blower will not turn off' - I thought you were wanting a Mad Max style blower.
