I imagine this will be a very slow and depressing thread... But do we have many blues fans on here? Modern? Older? Whats on ya radiogram now?

I often listen to a lot of older stuff from the 40s/50s but of late I've come forward about 30+ years and have been on a real Stevie Ray Vaughan and Robert Cray kick.

What about you?

Do like to listen to a little Ray Charles and Cab Calloway from time to time.
Can be both relaxing and upbeat at the same time.

There is of course those like Gary Moore ,BB King Muddy waters , The band ,Elmore James ,Duke Ellington, The list goes on you also have to consider such groups as ZZ Top. and artists like Eric Clapton who play many genres of music but have a solid roots in the blues

Dudes.. nothing stops me in my tracks faster than Etta singing At Last.

The other week Pandora Radio gave me this young female guitarists. Goddamned that girl could play. Will find out who she was and post back

I love blues, SRV is the greatest of all time imo, Hendrix has a couple of good ones too.
Others I like are:
Eric Clapton
JJ Cale
Gary Moore
The Allman Brothers
Robert Randolph
Buddy Guy
And a young guy named Jonny Lang, Jack White (white stripes) has some really good blues stuff.
If you're into the older stuff Taste, have you heard any Huddie "lead belly" Ledbetter?

Quite right , that song makes the hairs on my neck stand up .Eartha Kitt also had a good set of lungs on her , those of a certain age will recall her as cat woman in BatMan

I am an Eric Clapton fan, and have just hooked onto Gary Moore. Man, can he bang a guitar.
Love the Clapton Crossroads DVDs, some great old, and new names on those discs.
Robert Cray has a different voice, I like it.
If you want some good listening, get the Eric Clapton story CDs(5 if I remember) Tells his life story, jamming with Hendricks, George Harrison etc in his younger days. Great stuff.
