thats right but how you adapt the key locks to work in a vh commodore I m not sure.
Since you would never have to use the key for the door locks if it all works correctly you could just put the keyhead on the same keyring without the vr/s key attached ( it detaches from the key by undoing 2 screws)as your original vh key and keep the door locks and ignition barrel as they are now.

Its for a VN Commodore ... i heard that the transponders from ignition barrel will need to be changed over to the VS or VR veriant.
So yeah you know the reason why i asked the question :p

High series V8 will swap & work if you use the appropriate Memcal & matching key as well.
V6 causes issues as the memcal/PCM is different & not interchangeable

VR and VS "ANY" series are different. NOT compatible. Even though the VR and VS series are much the same in body, mechanically and electrically they are very different.

99 wh statesman v6
Bcm

Hey I've got a '99 WH statesman, Recently my remote key access stopped working so I went out and bought new keys thinking it was the keys battery that went. It turned out it wasn't so I bought a new BCM and linked it to my ECM and I still can't open my doors electronically, Any ideas ? :bang:

I currently run a VS V8 BCM in my VR Caprice and it works perfectly only thing was had to alter the relay wiring for the windows and the unlock button works on 1 press it dosnt do the hold it down to unlock all doors thing. Didn't alter any wiring harnesses.
So I would say Dr Bob is correct.
