How thick can i go with body filler without it causing problems? I have about a 10 - 13mm deep push-in, in the rear quarter near the light. Panel beater wants $800 or more to repair it, but it could be $1000. He mentioned its not worth it unless someone else is paying for it. He said i could sculpture some bog if i was willing to do it myself. I don't want to fill it for it only to crack. The dent requires welding and pulling something I can not do.

It'll work but not ideal - won't crack unless you hit it again. I generally try to get it so that there's no more than 3-4mm. Have a go, worst case just pay the money to have it done professionally if it doesn't work out.

Is this a new dent?

Maybe wait, & go back to Adelaide to that paintless dent remover? The one that did the last job?

Same dent, it looks pretty ok and a lot better than before but after going to the panel beaters he pointed out that there is still a fair amount of push-in when you compare it with the other side. I thought it was maybe 4mm but it's over 10mm. Having the local PB look at it I can now see yeah I'd like it better than how it is. Probably looks worse with the unpainted bumperettes.

Just went out with a plastic ruler and it's more like 7mm, if i take the original contour. Just now right in the corner where the paint has cracked it has started to get surface rust and making it stand out more.

It looks bad now that the moulding has been removed only 10 minutes ago.

The lower area past the main ding has a push in as well and bog skim area would stretch 80mm below and 60mm above the moulding.

What are your thoughts on heating the panel with a heat gun and weld some hooks on and use a slide hammer? I have asked the father in law if he can have a go with a slide hammer. Not sure if he will say yes though. Is there better brands of bog to use or are they much the same?
Either way i might have a go at it on the long weekend. Might be full bog is the only thing.

You could try a fibre filler, then bog....Fibre filler is a fibreglass based filler, and the bog to do the final finish
