I can't seem to locate what sounds like body rubbing sounds

bushes maybe?

I don't think lube jobs happen anymore like the old days

Nothing really to lube on today's cars.
Some ball joints/tie rods have grease nipples but most are prepacked.
You will find the noises you are hearing are bushes/rubbers mostly, and they seem to be more so in wet weather.
Gees even my shoes squeak on the brake pedal.

Are these squeeks while you are driving, or parked at night in a dimly lit quiet street.
If they are the former, can't help, but if the latter, good on ya !

Door seals?

Check your ball joints. When they're about to let go they squeak like a mattress. Sound waves travel through the chassis and makes it hard to pinpoint.

check your springs and shockers @ big ticket items any of these old and worn will squeal n squeek like a you know what you only have to hear an old ford/valiant and you will know what I mean.
Could even be dry out bushes, even tailshaft bearings

Lube every suspension/chassis bits with wd40/wurth silicon lub , that should ease your pain
