bonnet mounted gauges

hey guys,
i have a set of black gauge cups i wish to mount onto my vp bonnet, first is this legal? i tryed searching though vicroads website with no luck.

i need to hear from people that know, not guessing!

WRONG....

Yes they are legal as long as you follow certain criteria.

Must be on passenger side.
Must not be more reflective than your current paint, ie. no chrome. Black should be fine.
If you run a piece of string from the top of you windshield to end of bonett, guages must not touch string.

Follow those and your fine.

If you dont know the answer when someone asks for advice, dont give a stupud two word answer which is wrong.

Sorry VPWAGZ for the incorrect info i gave. I have been defected before with gauges on the bonnet in same position as azk has described. Its all upto the copper on the side of the road

Yes, they can be on either side. Iv'e had mine on the cowl for quite a few years and never had a second look from the boys in blue! Its the same as anything, if you are being stupid at the time they see you they will use the gauges as an excuse to defect you.....
