hey fellas my boot lock mechansim is rooted and i cant open my boot, i cant go through the back seats because my custom boot install is fully blocking the way.

im pritty sure its the cable that hooks on to the lock mechanism it self, because i cant use the key to the boot nor the cabin lever to open it.

would there happen to be a bolt or 2 which under the car that can release the metal bar which the lock latches onto?

Nope. The only way into the boot is through the back seat or the lock. You may have to smash the lock out and open it that way. Although you are saying that the key won't open it either. The boot catch itself could be stuffed.

Just had a look at mine. You could smash the light on the boot and get in through there. You could also take your parcel shelf out and there is a hole about 120mm in diameter under the brake light, you might be able to reach the catch from there if your boot install isn't in the way.

THe brake lights come off from the inside. I would try, as Not_An_Abba_Fan suggested, removing the rear parcel shelf and trying from there. It would only take a second to try it anyway, even if it doesnt work.

hrmm tried the removal of the parcel shelf and realised my box extends too far out to even get my hand down to the latch. im thinking about busting the boot brake light.. :( caz it looks like the last resort.

i was thinking of buying new tail-lights earlier anyways, since the ones atmo are ehh..fooked looking?

Just before you do, I would get confirmation that you will have access to the mechanism once the light is removed. You will have to smash the inside tail light. The larger one on the outside, from memory, wont give you access to the inside of the boot. If no one can confirm it, I will check it out for you.

I looked at mine and the inside tail light will give you a fairly large access hole to the boot. The cable pulls the latch and is no way connected to the key. There is a rod that goes from the key to the latch. If neither the key or the cable work then the latch itself is broken some how. If you can get your arm in far enouh, there are 2 philips screws holding the latch to the boot.
