Boot garnish not sitting properly

Has anyone had this happen before? Fitted a chrome garnish and it's sticking out at the top.. Tried re-fitting multiple times and still not luck.

Any help would be appreciated!

So my dumba** didn't realise the number plate globes wiring wasn't tucked away into the holders on the back of the garnish so it wasn't sitting in properly haha.
