Does any 1 know if the boot hinges of the sedan is welded and bolted on to the parcel shelf metal or is it just bolted on by 4 bolts on each hinge?..i really dont wanna remove my parcel shelf to see for myself and i just wanna know if its just straight bolt on so i can go fish a pair out from the wreckers when they are open on tuesday.

You should have no dramas with it, there is just 4 bolts per bracket on each side...

well when i purchased the VS from the previous owner, she pointed out that the left side boot hinge was bent, she said it got bent when they closed the boot with a full load and yeah the hinges got in the way and got bent, well that's what they claimed.

the left hinge is also so loose that you could wriggle it side to side where as the opposite hinge is full solid.

Yeah probably be a good idea to get one from the wreckers, or tighten it up, straighten it out?

yeah definatley getting another one from the wreckers, caz on a closer inspection from inside of the boot it looks like the part and the washer that the hinge swings on has rooted it self as well.

any rough idea how much 1 would cost?

about $15-30 I would say. You may have to get both hinges.
You have to cut the wires for light loom, central locking and remove the boot lid to make things easier to refit the hinge.

It just means using a soldering iron...

    Goodluck
