I have a VL but unfortunately no boot lock key. I can open the boot from the glovebox but I’d really like key access.
Any ideas on a solution guys?

Take the car, or the lock, to a locksmith, and they will cut a key for you.
They may also match the lock to your ignition key.
Other option, buy a new lock with key, or even second hand with key.

Great. Thanks very much for your reply and advice. I’ve just got this 1988 VL V8 and going through it to see what needs restoring. I’m wrapped to own it. Also have a VL 1988 with the Nissan 6. Thanks.

Just flick the "C" clip off the back of your boot lock, slide it out & take that into a locksmith along with your ignition/door key & they will rekey it for you. 5 mins to take out twice as long to get it back in!!!!!

That way you don't need to take the car in..

Thanks for the advice. I’ll do exactly what you suggest. Cheers.
