Boot lid rubbing on rear bumper

Hey all,
I have noticed a bit of rubbing where the boot lid bottom edge meets the rear bumper cover. The paint on the boot lid edge is almost worn to the primer.
anyone else had this issue?

Just adjust the rubber stoppers.

Yup - they're similar to the stoppers to adjust the closure of the bonnet. Sorry I don't have a pic.

Screw them out a bit at a time to make the gap bigger. And screw them in to make the gap smaller.

at work at present so i cant give it a go just yet.
if its simple enough might have a go in my lunch break.

adjusted them just now but even with the stoppers wound out the boot lid bottom edge still chafes on the bumper when closed.
any other ideas?

Bumper (or worse, the car) is out of alignment/damaged?

think i might get under the car tonight and check the mounting lugs for the rear bumper. i can press the bumper inward towards the boot, so that its not touching the boot lid. maybe its come loose on one of its mounts.

Has the bumper ever been removed? Reverse sensors fitted? Towbar?

The part of the bumper thats rubbing is probably sitting on top of the slot that its supposed to sit in, making it sit higher than it should. Just remove and refit the bumper ensuring that part slides into the slot, not above it.

not sure if any of you saw one of my older posts about when i picked up the car and the dealer had superglued a second hand boot badge on the back instead of supplying a new one for $13. anyway they pulled off the badge ripped off the paint. and had the bootlid repainted. to do that, the boot lid was removed. last night i loosened the boot lid mount bolts on the hinges (where the gas struts are) and whilst the boot was open i moved it upward(which is outward when closed) a few mm. then retightened. if you think it would be useful i can take some pics of what i did, as i now have enough clearance between the boot lid and the bumper.
