Hi,

I can hear the solenoid firing when I press the button on the remote but the boot does not open.
When I climb in the boot through the rear seat centre fold-down I can see a piece of small gauge wire that the solenoid is using to release the boot, swinging in the wind.

So how do I open the boot ?

Regards,
Craig

Just inside the ski port opening there should be a pull cord with a yellow ring on it..
I think if you are looking into the opening from the rear seat it is in the top left corner, maybe covered by your carpet in the boot.
Hope that helps you.

Thanks guys,
I didn't know that the alternate release was there.

I put a small hook on the end of the broken wire. I'll get the part from Holden tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Yes the VY has the yellow pull ring emergency boot release. You should see it when you pull down the rear centre seat back cushion.
If in doubt just look up the diagrams in your owners' handbook.

Hey if the wire breaks that connects from the Solenoid to the Boot Catch, instead of buying it from holden (Who want to sell you the whole solenoid for like $65), you can just make one up using a peice of coat hanger. Cut it the exaxt size and make little bends on the ends with pliers. I Made one up in 5 mins and works a treat. Will NEVER break too.

Wish I knew this before I paid for the part :-(
