This advice really saved me. I'd say the emergency boot release behind the rear seat door is standard on all sedans. If the boot is full like mine was, one can't crawl in to release the catch. I used a coat hangar too and it worked a treat. Only thing I did extra was to use a pencil to mark the position of the lever hole on the front of the boot lock so I knew where to bend the wire to ensure it was the proper length from solenoid to boot lock.

Only very late VY's had the wire as part of the solenoid. The majority of them you can replace the wire on its own from Holden and it's cheap.

I pulled that yellow emergency release once. Passenger got ejected through the roof.

If i lift up pressure with one hand on the boot then press the remote with the other it will open

Put a bit of WD-40 on the mechanism, didn't help

Plus, when i use the remote it doesn't activate the release motor everytime, if i leave it for a bit it will turn on, is that normal?

No, replace the actuator.
