Commodore VK
Hi all, I'm trying to identify a 5 speed Brog Warner Gearbox that i have recently purchased.
It was discribed as a VK Commodore 6cyl 5 Speed.
I have noticed it does not have the hole at the top of the bell housing for the spark sensor, so possibly it is off an earlier model Commodore or Sunbird.
I know 0507 is a M76 5 speed but not sure from which car.
Numbers are as follows. Bell housing; 0507-212902 8006-1-F. End housing; 311 0507-066905H Tag on side; T767-33-001 0507 065 Then has 3519 stamped.
If anyone has the magic decoder ring needed to shed some light for me would be greatly appreciated.
I'm getting together parts to build a 6cyl Carby VK and hope this is the right box.
I understand that the VK boxes were a bit beefier than the VH 173's 4cyl.

Cheers

Could be from a VC onwards. (Think that's when the 5 speeds started...Would have to double check though)

Not all VK's had the hole for a spark sensor

Make sure you get the correct tin plate that goes over the trans hump....The 5 speed gearshift came through further back in the trans hump from the firewall to the 4 speeds...
