How do I find out if my 2004 5 stud Astra has a Bosch or Lucas rear disk as this affects what the correct brake pad for it is?

If its a late AH, from my experiences in selling them, 90% of the time it will have the DB1511's. If it has the 5 stud front its a pretty safe bet it has the 1511s. But you could be that 10% that managed to get a bitsa Astra.

However, if you want to be 100% sure the easiest ways are:

1. Check the profile of the pads. From memory the 1511s are a jelly bean shape. A little more rounded whereas the 1425s are more trapezoidal with more defined corners.

2. The comment on the pads is actually incorrect, its the CALIPER not the DISC. So check the calipers for either a Bosch or a Lucas branding.

Thanks for the answers. I'll have a look this afternoon to see if I can identify the rear caliper.

I can see LUCDS on the calipers so I am assuming these are LUCAS.
