I have an unleaded '99 Holden Rodeo and the red light for the handbrake is on every day until I run the car for about an hour.
I've checked the button that gets pushed when the hand brake is off and even when it's pushed all the way down the red light doesn't go off.
I've heard there may be a screw or nut I may be able to tighten but I wouldn't know where to start looking.
The car passed a pink slip just yesterday, so the mechanic could find nothing wrong with it, it seems to be completely random. Has anybody ever heard of a problem like this before?
I have a 6 week old baby and I live 45 minutes from the nearest town, so if there's a way I can fix it without having to risk driving it I would love to hear it :)
    Thanks.

Isn't that the same light that is on if your fluid level is low?

I'm not sure, I haven't let the brake fluid go below the maximum line since I bought the car last October.
I found something on Google about a possible leak or blockage in the hydraulic fluid system, is there a way I could go about safely checking that?
