I am replacing the springs in my commodore, and the brake line is held onto the strut with a plastic grommet. I broke it trying to remove the line on one side, I was just wondering how to remove that bit of plastic without breaking it for when I do the other side?

Hopefully by now you have found that the plastic grommet on the brake line has a flat spot that allows it to be slid down into the bracket and then it rotates and the round retains it.
So to remove simply twist the brake line until you align the flat section.

as Mungus said, you've gotta turn it until the flat spots line up and the slide it out.
