    Hi everyone,

Just changing the rear pads in our VS wagon and have a couple of questions. One of the bottom guide pins in the caliper seem to be fairly tight on. I got the 15mm spanner and spun it a bit although there was a bit of resistance.

How would I go about getting this pin out as it seems there is no grease on it? It doesnt slide in and out easily. Should I use silicone based grease on it?

Also, when bleeding the brakes, has anyone had success with the "one man" bleeding tubes, where there is a one way valve so you dont have to open and close the bleed screw? What I was planning on doing to bleed the brakes was the following (going from left rear, right rear, front left and then front right)

    1. Drain most of the fluid in the booster and top up with fresh fluid
    2. Start to pump through each wheel until the fluid turns clear (topping up the booster as I went along)

    Sound ok?

    Thanks

I had the exact same problem with the guide pins.

What i did was i removed the brake pad holder (houses the guide pins) removed the lil rubber boot and soaked the pin with WD-40 or the like just to soften up the gunk thats holding it in.

Once your satisfied place the head of the guide pin in a securely bolted bench vie and keep on monuvering it and turning it until the housing begins to give way and seperates from the guide pins, i gave mine a few whacks with the hammer.

Give the slide and the slot a good thorough sand and clean and coat them with "Anti Sieze" (grey lube tube from autobarn)

Also, to flush the brake system, how much fluid should I buy? One 500ml bottle wont be enough I assume?
