I just got my VT upgrade today, and I was thinking about the front brake rotors and pads that are on there, you see they are near new, so my Q is can I swap the old stock to the rear? are they the same?

no, the front rotors are much bigger and are ventilated. also fronts dont have the handbrake drum as greenacc said.
i would just set them aside one day they might come in handy....

nope. rear pads are smaller to suit the smaller rotors.
