Brake up grade for my ve ute

I think 45 is standard in 18 on the base SS. I have Monaro wheels I restored myself so I would want to use them. I thought SSV 19s could take the 4 pots, even though they are 45 offset.

VE Redline wheels(19"x8.5") are +48 and clear the calipers by a couple of mm, +45 offset might be too close...

How far the wheel sticks in or out from the callipers. In this case the standard ve ss rims and many others will not clear Brembos without spacers that are illegal unless they are fitted from factory. There is a Porsche that comes from the factory with spacers therefore legal.

So you can't use spacers, can you buy rims with that offset? Or are they illegal too?

Redline wheels and HSV E series and Gen F wheels have the correct offset.
Some aftermarket wheels have the correct, or custom, offset.

Offsets are good provided they don't stick out beyond the guards

But with more offset with the right fitting wheels especially when the spoke part of the wheel protrudes ,the gutter gets closer to the alloy part of the wheel and having to be very careful every time you park becomes a issue at first but then second nature …there’s no rubber edge on the tyre anymore to touch first …you have to get it right every time.

The offset is the same from stock ss 19 inch to clubsport 19inch (which has ap racing brakes fitted)…the only difference is the spoke clearance which I measure a little over 10mm more clearance for the caliper.

Interesting, this now begs the question whether VZ Monaro 18s have the same spoke distance as stock VE SS rims or SSV rims, with the extra clearance?

Hi guys Paul again im not mechanicaly minded only where water and oil goes and the wheels go round the brake upgrade brembos full kit or wilwood full kit , for ve commodore ute 19" super sport rims can't decide mainly street car, interested in ya thoughts and ive just being notified that the fdfi2300 supercharger is on its way 2 weeks to be fitted , its being so long a wait (harrop waiting for eaton rotors from the US) since February can't wait , cheers.
