Gidday all, I just finished off my brake upgrade on my VK. Most of the usual parts, hub adaptors, VX calipers and master cylinder, VS booster. And I also added in a vacuum pump as cam doesn't give me a lot of vacuum. Cruze pump, control relay and switch, all factory pieces. Works very well compared to the VL V8 calipers that were on there. If you want more information, let me know.

Would like to know more about the wiring for the vacuum pump and how it’s controlled.

Ignition 12V -> Vacuum switch red
Vacuum switch brown -> to control relay brown
Fused 12V -> control relay red
Body ground -> control relay black

Third picture shows the factory control relay and pump. Most people I've seen selling the pumps don't include the control relay cos they obviously don't know how it all works together.

Does it run all the time or is the control relay kicking in via an input when vacuum is low?

Just when vacuum is low. Runs for 10 seconds or so when the key is first turned on.

Switch on the brake booster (2nd photo, orange plug into it) It has two connections going to engine and pump.
