2010 VE SS-V Wagon
Just a little envious of the Series II brake package and wanted to get your opinion on whether an upgrade to DBA 4000 series Wiper Slots was worth it or not? I was quoted about $1800 for four rotors and Bendix Ultimate pads for the rear (as I fitted forodo to the front). All I'm looking for is a little bit of safe stopping power given that I have a little more grunt under the bonnet. I will be taking the car to the track after doing a couple of the performance John Bowe courses and a transmission cooler is installed.

Your thoughts and opinions please. :beer chug:

wow thats a bit pricey,
go through gslrallysport one of the sponsors and you could get that kinda kit for heaps less,
id expect to pay around 1000 for slotted rotors and good pads all round

I was thinking same thing.
$1800 for rotors and pads isnt cheap considering calipers arent touched.
shop around more bud, there's better deals to be had if you are looking to spend that amount of money.

I just fitted 2010 Camaro Brembo's to the WM Caprice.
DBA 4000 Rotors were $200 each from Supercheap, Pt No DBA42604SL/R.
Calipers were $AU600 delivered from EvilBay US.

Hey mate, I was looking at doing the same thing. Are the calipers the ones you need to drill the holes out a little?
Other than the drilling was it straight bolt up?

Do you have a link to the action or a seller name? I looked and the only set I can find on ebay they wont post to Aus.

I did the smae upgrade not long back on my wagon.
With a trade order it was about $1300

IMO while worth it but if you intend to drive it hard they do still fade and get hot.
They are better than stock yes but for racing forget it.
Even a hard punt thru the hills can show signs of fade.
Better off going Bigger rotors which is substantialy dearer.

The package i bought for mine.

sorry mate but what your looking at wont be good enough for track days. i'd look out for second hand HSV brakes they come up on ebay pretty often.

Yes, open up the mounting holes to 9/16, you need some VZ series 2 bolts 14mm x 1.5 pitch, Pt No GM11518238, use the VE hoses if you like, if you find a set of calipers, (just ask them to keep the rotors, far too heavy to ship), the DBA 4000 will be just fine. (A lot better than stock).
