    Could be dodgy injectors?

If it were electrical such as plugs and leads it would do it across the entire rev range, sounds like a fuel issue, like when its coming off idle map to part throttle.I doubt its a fuel filter problem as you say when you give it more throttle its fine but to rule that out ,how long ago was it replaced.Have a look inside the throttle body it might well be full of gum and ****.How many kays has it got on it ?

    Throttle position sensor, coils...
OBD2 diagnostic scanner will quickly tell you if any sensors are faulty if you can lay your hands on one.

Does it idle fine or keeps stalling?unless you give it some throttle?.

The fuel filter was replaced about a month ago as I thought that was the problem ..... it idles fine, runs fine except for the breaking down part ... I might take it back and get a scan done on it

Yeah a scan would be the best thing to find what the issue could be.I thought it might be a vacuum hose split or has come loose causing the issue best of luck.

Mmm could be O2 sensors or dodgy injectors
