    Hey everyone,

Im pretty new to this site, hoping i can get some help from here, ive been looking through the forum and really think this forum is top. Anyways ill start with my car problem and ill introduce myself later.

So i just brought a vs acclaim for $450.00 of cause a car that cheap has problems, its a v6, auto, duel fuel. Theres no LPG switch as the owner said the LPG doesnt work and he said something like when he turn it to LPG it wont rev, i really dont know what he means but anyways i been driving it on petrol and theres been a few problems i hope you guys help.

When its on park, i rev it up and it kinda looses power from 1000-2000 rpm then it revs ok, But when i put it on drive it drives ok but still kinda lacks power abit, sometimes when taking off, the car looses power and the same time when it tryes to regain power it shutters in the middle section of the car, it kinda sounds like the tail shaft.

I dont really like the fact of driving the car with LPG especially not knowing the condition of it, is there a cut off switch somewhere in the car where i can turn off all the valves or something?
The engine bay looks different to a petrol vs, Dont know what is safe to remove or what is not, is it hard to remove the gas setup?

Anyways that will be it for now i really hope i explained it properly enough, if i didnt please tell me, really looking forward to your help

First of all, Dont touch the gas. Dont remove any components. There should be a valve on the tank itself under a small cover that will stop gas escaping from the bottle. Sounds like a sparking issue to me, DFI, coils, leads and/or plugs. Your best to do yourself a error code check and report back with what you have.

Heres the link on how to check them. http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...22307-checking-error-codes-vr-vs-revised.html
Click the link in my signature to find out what the codes mean.

Let us know how you go and what you get.

When diagnostic mode is activated it cycles through the codes that's all so some times it will flash 12 then 47 then 12 again

LOL ...Where's the fun in that?

I'd have a go at fixing the old girl .. you'll learn heaps and might end up with the best car you've ever owned.
$450 for an Acclaim dual fuel = bargain :surprise:

k so i went for a drive which involved freeway driving and trafic condition, i noticed that it struggles under load very much, also when around 95k's and accelerate the car shutters heaps, feels like its in the middle of the car.

Can someone please trouble shoot this problem for me, i thought it mnight be spark plugs but i reved it on drive holding the brake down and it seems to rev nicely, doesnt seem to miss, Would the tail shaft cause all those problems? it seems to loose power between 1000-2000 revs.

if you put it in D or 1st and hold the brakes down hard and accelerate slowly (without moving) does it still break down and miss?
as above, replace the basics, plugs, leads, air filter and see if that makes a difference, if that makes little/no difference then check the fuel supply, filter, reg, pump....
the vibration sounds like something in the tail shaft, uni's, cv joint but most likely the center bearing

the shudder i'd go with the center bearing. stuggling as a couple members suggested, plugs and leads.

give her a good service, change all filters, oil, air, and fuel.
