buick auto box on a ecotec engine

hey just wondering if i can get away with putting a buick gearbox on an ecotec? hard to find a vs one and just so happened to find a vr one for cheap so hoping it just goes straight on cheers in advance

Yes and no.

Yes the VR used the 4L60e (like the ecotec), however there are 2 different 4L60e as there was a change to the TCC system midway through the VR run. The early VR 4L60e's use a 12 pin wiring loom (won't work) where as the later use a 13pin loom. I believe the VR boxes use a different extension housing/speed sensor however it may be possibly to swap the extension housing over from a VS box to the VR one.

so not just a plug and play situation? will keep looking in that case dont want to be messing around with it at all
