So at the moment I run what ever 20w 50 mineral that is on special. Today I bought some Nulon SJ rated gear. Coming mid this year I will be fitting Mace roller rockers, which are remanufactured LS1 rockers. Question is can I still keep using cheap oil or will I need to go to one with a higher rating like SM? Which would probably mean looking at Repco 20w 50 mineral or Penrite 20w 50 mineral or would I need a semi-syn?

Rockers make no difference to the type of oil you use mate, if your current oil is working fine then keep using it

You get gear from the stealer at a better price though, don't you Pete.

Can't get better prices than supercheap anywhere really I've found as it's often below cost apparently to get people in the door. At $7 for 4L that gulf western 20w50 went into my old ecotec often lol.

Use whatever oil you like.

True but I got my Pinrite oil for the VE from Repco when the sale was on no better price for me .
I agree you can use any oil.
