Buick to ecotec conversion?

Hi i have a vn v6 that i converted to manual. Its pretty good being manual but im a bit sick of it now, it guzzles fuel and i dont even thrash it and im sick of changing gears... The only good thing really is that i can roll start it when i get a flat battery. I was thinking maybe to put and ecotec engine in it? and make it auto? I like the ecotec engines even tho i have a mate of mine has a vt and im always working on it.. but what would be involved in doing the conversion? different wire loom and computer and ****? would it be worth doing or what. dont comment to buy a car with an ecotec cas i like my vn
