    I am repairing my Mums VZ calais where she hit a curb in a carpark, so checked the build plate for the paint code.
    I was just curious to see what the rest of it means, just to check it is all ok.
    Reason for this is that it says suspension is standard, but I am sure it has FE2

    Anyway, details are:
    Model: VZ8VX69-355
    Trim: 81I - It has black leather
    AC: CJ2 - Dual-zone climate control?
    Paint: 679F - Will be needing some of this!
    Susp: Std - Sits and drives like FE2 tho?
    Eng: LY7 - Has alloytec190
    Trans: M82 - 5sp auto with paddle shift
    Axle: GT9 - Dunno if it has an LSD, or the ratio

    Does all this check out alright?

    I can make the X69-355 would be X=Calais 69 sedan 3 Calais level and I'd guess one of the 5's would = 5speed auto.

    GT9 = 2.87 8" diff (not LSD)

    Even though the plate indicates the suspension as STD and you think it sits and rides like it has FE2, it probably doesn't (unless aftermarket installation) it probably has what Holden refer to as Luxury Sports Suspension which is something akin to FE1.5 I have an SVZ (2007 build) which has such suspension although it isn't indicated on the build plate. Yes it is similar to FE2 although I don't think it is quite as hard, holds the road very well though.
    Check out your Owner's Manual probably under Specifications, toward the end of the book. You'll find a page dedicated to explaining the ISO VIN plate details etc. Lots of 'useful' information.
