Cadillac for Statesman replacement

I was driving past Lang Lang on Thursday and a new blue Cadillac ATS (LHD) came out from the proving grounds overtook me (I was towing a heavy trailer and wasn't going real fast) and turned off. Is this the Statesman replacement, good choice if it is?

I would think the Genesis G80 is an obvious replacement for the Stato, but where is it? Hyundai seem incapable of organising a pissup in brewery.

I read the other day them caddy’s are doing world testing in oz. there was a group of them in central Australia not so long ago all undisguised.

That sounds like it could be it. Hard to image Holden without a longer wheelbase model, maybe Calais does the job now.

They dropped the Statesman years ago because it didn't sell well/had an image problem, whereas the Caprice sold well. If any luxury long wheel base GM car came to Australia wearing Holden badges it would be called Caprice. But I doubt that will happen.
