Calais diversity antenna

Has anyone with a VR-VS Calais connected up the diversity antenna ("mini-GM" plug) to their aftermarket head unit with the standard antenna socket?

(N.B. standard Holden antenna plugs are "motorola" plugs.)

I've put in a Clarion head unit into my VR Calais, so i've got one standard antenna socket and two plugs (one standard and one mini-GM). I've used a y-adapter to connect them both up.

Does anyone know if this makes ur reception better, or is it best to leave the mini-GM plug (diversity) left unplugged, and just use the standard antenna?

Leave it plugged in as it enhances the seperation between stations which is useful when in large cities
