Hey all, I found pics from when I did my LED cluster conversion thought I'd put them up.. (Now I did my conversion well over a year ago now)

The first pic I have attached I made up to show you how I set the LED's up. You must use 3mm Led's this way, I used BLUE 3mm 11,000MCD LED's.

The second pic I have attached Shows the resistors soldered onto the LED legs.

The third pic I have attached shows Them fitted in the same array as the first pic I attached showing how to sit them/mount them.

The 4th pic is a little bit of a close up, **** quality...... I'm going to talk my bro into me doing his dash & i'll take better MACRO photographs....

Cheers
MaT

So any 3mm led will work? Do you expressly require the resistor?

think about it mate, your wiring a 3v globe to a 12v power supply.. what do u think happens without the resistor?

Hehehe....woops.....wasn't thinking.... -sigh- ah well, I reserve the right to ignore electrical ins and outs when not at work :)

I was thinking that you needed the resistor more so that the overall circuit load wouldn't ramp up to high....never even thought about the nominal voltage on the LED....

Ok, thanks for pointing out my idiocy to me...

:)
