G'day guys, I understand it is kind of a silly question, however it would be great to have an advice from owners =)
As far as I can see, both Calais and SV6 have same kWs, so driving fun should be the same ;)
    Pros of SV6:
    -better, sporty exterior
-apparently, higher after market price (I could be wrong on this point, but it looks like on CarSales).
    Pros of Calais:
-better interior (sometimes even with lather and satnav)
    -cheaper price to buy ;)

Buy a calais and put SV6/SS bumpers on it. Best of both worlds.

    Calais definitely.

    Calais pros,
Triple LCD cluster, dual zone climate control, color LCD screen radio, projector lamps,
    Map and footwell lights.

    Sv6 pros
Sportier exterior, fe2 suspension (I think, though some Calais models also have fe2)

If you can grab yourself a calais model cheaper than you can buy an equivalent sv6,
(Same shape, style, kms and year model) then definitely go the Calais, as the Calais would have been the more expensive car to purchase brand new.

Cheers mate! So far Calais looks like a better choice. Regarding head unit - does Calais support iPhone/Andoroind connectivity? As I see cheaper versions of SV6 has only AUX input.

Sounds great, but I could estimate 3-5 grands for such a work =) Not sure if it is reasonable =)

    Thanks! Got your point ;-)

I last week have just purchased a 07 Calais, 33k on the clock brilliant drive over my VZ SV6! Although only 5kw more power than the VZ it certainly feels like a lot more. In for tints tomorrow.

Head unit has Aux input doesn't support Bluetooth music streaming.

In my opinion, it also depends on the model.

From the Series II (MY11 and later), the SV6 also had the dual zone aircon and map lights. About the only things of significance that the Calais had over the SV6 then was leather seats, projector headlights and the three LCD cluster. The SV6 offered a manual and standard LSD if a manual in addition to the bodywork and suspension.

In my case, I retro fitted a Calais cluster to both my 2011 MY11 and 2013 MY13 SV6 manual. With that, the Calais had nothing that I would want.

They are both nice cars and you will be happy with either of them. Of the 2 models just buy the very best car you can find for your budget and do not worry too much about which it is. The quality of your used car purchase is the most important single issue.
