crank angle sensor: behind the harmonic balancer controls your ignition timing
cam angle/position/phase sensor: in the timing cover basically next to the water pump, tells the ecu where the cam is and what injectors it should be pulsing

yeah that looks like it, guessing you have a problem with it?

Sometimes it's not the sensor playing up but the magnet on the camshaft timing gear that the sensor read has broken and fallen off, turn the engine over by hand (spanner on the hb bolt) and watch inside the hole that came out of to make sure it's still there.

i just seen what brett_jjj said about it on another post and it made sense to me. my car runs fine high up in the revs while im driving but the idle is very erratic. sounds like its missing but all the coil packs are working and all the injecters are to. and its not isolated to any one cylinder

i'd be looking at 33, map sensor high voltage, could be causing the o2 rich/lean probs and the idle issue if your map is faulty.

47 yes cas or dfi can cause this. not probs with the cam angle sensor

the build up on it wouldn't worry it, all it does is sense a strong magnet going past and all the internals are well protected.

yea. swapped map, swapped o2. lean rich gone for now.i know the cas is on its way out as it only throws that code every now and again so its just dropping out then coming back i reckon
