It really comes down to what intake manifold you have (and if your willing to change it)

As the others have said, bump up the compression, fit a decent solid bump stick and let it rev. The only thing is, if you want it to live a long healthy life at high revs it's going to cost a bit as the oil system and valve train will need some work.

It really depends on what intake manifold your running.

Crane 288 will make ya missus moist!!!

I really want to change the manifold and put a 4 barrel throttle body on it. But it's the missus' car and it's her money lol. If we can fit another $1k into the budget, then that may be on the cards.

If its still running banana manifold u will get better bang for buck changing the intake setup then rebuilding the motor with the wrong manifold....

So stroking and camming with the banana manifold is pointless?

OK. We'll go with what we have and then upgrade as funds permit.

yeah no point haveing a cam that gets humming at 4000rpm to only have the inlet manifold fall over soon after.ive been playing with a 304 with bananas and cam with shaved heads and port cleanup duel exhausts and it really falls on its face around 5400-5800 rpm and a 70mm throttlebody is pulling vacuam from the minute you go full throttle all the way to redline its not big enough
355 will make all of the above even worse
