After some more research, I think this one will be a better choice.

The choices are getting confusing lol.

Will a H304 be any good? It is lower in the revs which is good to suit the factory manifold.

If it was me id get something ground up in the 240/250's on 108 with .570+ lift. Solid FT, don't not Hyd. If you want off the shelf. F280 or 288 will do the job u need.

Regardless what cam you choose your manifold is going to kill it. U will NEED a new intake as well as good heads.

The cam that is in there at the moment is this one

I can't find the part number on the Crane website, it has R A N in between the lobes in the middle of the cam, I'm assuming it's a Crane. The 112 would be the LSA?

That could possibly be a Wade camshaft grind. I just can't seem to find my Wade camshaft catalogue ATM.

Is hydraulic bad? The Crane website matches hydraulic cam and lifters in the H304. Revs from 3000-6500.

Hyd isn't bad. Although I personally think the h304 is too big to be a Hyd. But a solid is far superior. ESP if ur going to skid it.

Keep in mind that these RPM ranges are estimate's for 304 cubic inch. If you Stroke it to 355 the "power band" will come down the range around 500rpm-ish
(there is so other factors to consider too though)

I realise stroking brings it down about 500rpm, which is good because at the moment it limits at about 5500.

The Crane website lists the H304 as hydraulic.

Ring up Jim from Crane, they have some decent new hyd grinds that you can turn pretty hard.

Too late now, ordered the H304. Soon find out how it goes. Not looking for an engine that will spin up to 8000rpm, just reliably hit top gear on 3.08 gears at around 5000-5500. Just want enough to keep tyre speed and make smoke without putting too much stress on the engine.
