304 Cam for roller 304

Reccomended cam for 304 roller
Hey lads, currently doing a rebuild on my hsv vt 304. Going to be putting in aftermarket:

• Roller rockers
• Flat top pistons
• Double row timing chain
• Valves & springs
• Roller lifters (maybe)

Already have hsv vs extractors, getting a Mace CAI and keeping banana intake. Thinking of upping compression to around 9.5-10:1. With this info would any of you be able to reccommend a small-mild cam with good all round power for this setup? Ideally not to much of a lumpy idol either, if thats not to much to ask

Ditch the factory style roller lifters and fit some tie bar lifters instead so there is no chance of the spider plate failing, having a roller lifter rotate and eating the new cam/destroy your new engine build.

If you are staying with the banana's manifold keep the cam small, something that peaks about 5500rpm.

At least get the manifold extrude honed and fit a bigger throttle body i reckon.
Off the top of my head, a cam in the low 220deg range might be what you are after.

I was looking at a crane compucam 2030 when i was was looking into a basic cam upgrade if the compression isn't upped

A little bigger than the one you suggested.
