I'm going to take my engine out next week to install my clutch, so I figured while I'm at it, I'll get to work installing my cam. I've been doing some research, but would be good to hear some opinions on here. I have the cam, springs, and lifters ready, but not sure how to go about it.
- I want to raise the compression to 9.1:1, so should I just trim a bit off the heads/manifold, and use a shim for the rockers?
- Are there any good instructions for dialing in cams around anywhere?
- Anything else in general I should read up about?
- Anything I should replace while I have the engine apart?
This will all be done out of the car on an engine stand. Valve springs on the v6 were annoying enough to change while the engine was in the car
