- 2004 Candy Green VY Clubsport #1102
Hey guys, its probably been posted here before but cant really seem to find anything that thoroughly answers my question. Anyways i've purchased a 5.7L VY R8 with;
1-7/8 4-1 Pacemaker headers
Auspac 2.5" catback
CNC Ported heads
200 cell cats
Ramjet OTR
GM Motorsport Turbo killer cam 237/243 112LSA
Built 4L60E
4200RPM stall converter
3:7 diff gears.
Anyways i've had it re-tuned and it made 250rwkw. Low end feels fantastic but i feel it doesn't pull as hard as it should top end. It only just pulls past my mates stock 6.0L SS at a rolling race both in 2nd gear. I thought something with those mods would demolish a stock 6.0L which is what? 200rwkw factory and weighs nearly 300kg more? Am i expecting too much of my 5.7L? My question is i hear all this talk that a bigger stall converter robs top end power. is this true? how so? does it rob actual street power or just dyno figure power? The tune on the car itself feels fine.
