im thinking bout putting a cam in vy wat gains will i get and if i also put a chip in??

Depends on the cam. Some are designed to work with the stock ECU and other are more of the all out thing that will confuse the stock ECU. The latter will set data trouble codes and it will pull timing. A tune will always do the trick after a good install

im after a cam that will work with the srock ECU as i dont have that much cash to upgrade the ecu.

dont need to upgrade the ecu, just get your stock memcal tuned. would work out heaps cheaper then buying a new ECU

it's practically a must that you alter the tune if your altering the way the engine breathes (putting in a new cam).
there's absolutely no point doing a cam swap if your not going to tune it afterwards.
i know that both c.o.m.e. racing and crow cams do cam and chip packages - but it would be alot better to pick a cam for what you want from the car, install, then have it dyno tuned at your local kalmaker tuner in real time.

You can flash tune the VY's I'd guess all the big workshops have the software?
