Can anyone identify this part?

Broken hose on WK Statesman

There's a hose connected to a spigot just behind the throttle body. It appears to have a ground strap connecting it to the head and there's a spring loaded piston inside it. Any help identify this part and its function would be most appreciated

It's a 5.7 V8. Unfortunately, I can't attach a picture that's within the file size limit

It seems to be some kind of vacuum hose that splits in two with the far ends connecting to the valve covers

Sounds like the PCV valve.
